Chattanooga Voluntary Society Agorist Meetup

$4This is our monthly meetup for those locally who are interested in pursuing agorism, or operating “outside the system”. This includes homesteading, gardening, self defense, crypto, homeschooling, and other methods of withdrawing reliance and support from corporate and governmental sources while building up local community and resilience.
We do a pot luck so bring some food if you can. Also, bring $3-5 cash to help pitch in for using the space if you can. Kids are welcome too. Most of our communication is on Telegram so email us if you want to join there.
We’ll do the potluck then the presentation.
This month is our 4 year anniversary! We’ll have games- feel free to bring your own too. We’ll eat, hang out, play games, and talk a little about the upcoming year.
- Topic- Historical Patterns and Social Cycles- History is helical, both progressive and circular. There are many things we can draw out by looking at reoccurring patterns from wars, the rise and fall of empires, generational cycles, economic cycles, and more. These have been popularized by theories and authors such as The Fourth Turning, The Dim Age, Austrian Economics, Technocracy, the Hindu Yuga Cycles, Carrol Quigley, Marshall McLuhan, Jared Diamond, etc. By taking these various theories and observations and overlapping them on top of each other, there are some very potent takeaways and we can use the resulting framework to better understand both where we are today and what the future trends will be.
